DYNASTY's Season 9: More Ginger Ale, Than Gin-and-Tonics
A couple of articles now from the summer of 1988 after "Dallas" producer David Paulsen came on board to try to salvage "Dynasty" in its upcoming 9th season, which proved to be the fading soap last.

DYNASTY Articles: Dying Soaps (1989)
Ever since "Dynasty's" Carrington clan got off the Moldavian church floor unscathed and Bobby came out of THE shower over on "Dallas" the press sang soaps' swan song. This Wall Street Journal article concerning the dire state of soaps was however published just 3 days before ABC swung the axe and cancelled the aging soap.

DYNASTY Articles: "There's A Bit of Me in Sammy Jo" (People, 1983)
Following her initial 13-episode stint in season 2, and prior to becoming series regular in season 6, Heather Locklear made several notable guest appearances on "Dynasty," the first of which was in early 1983 when "People Magazine" published this article about the actress.

Diahann Carroll Dresses Up DYNASTY (1984)
Today's vintage "Dynasty" article comes from 1984 when Diahann Carroll (49 at the time) joined the "riches-and-bitches soap" and People Magazine called her "the only black actress with a continuing role on a prime-time serial."

Joan Collins: DYNASTY's DYNAMO (People, 1982)
Shortly before Christmas 1982, Joan Collins had already spent an entire season on ABC's "Dynasty" helping the alleged "Dallas" clone find its own distinctive tone. This People magazine article was published at that time.

The Jon-Erik Hexum Story (Plus Movie & HQ Pics)
27 years ago, Jon-Erik Hexum and Joan Collins starred in Aaron Spelling's "Making of a Male Model" - one of the most successful TV movies at the time. Sadly, just a year later, the young actor with a very promising career (who may have ended up playing Dynasty's Dex Dexter) lost his life on the set of CBS' "Cover Up."
