Ballgowns, tuxedos, fragrances... The public was craving all things Dynasty and the merchandising industry behind the glitzy soap opera was said to have grossed over 400 million dollars within a year.
In 1987, when the show was well on its downward curve in the ratings, only the fragrances inspired by the show ("Forever Krystle" & "Carrington) generated a combined revenue of over $40 million.
