THE COLBYS #212 'Reaching Out'
Hello, guys! I'm back with more of "The Colbys" and a new "Steven & Bart" series on my original YouTube channel.
Thank you for all your comments and messages - I'm sorry I wasn't able to respond sooner, too busy with my work and traveling, and I didn't want to make any additional empty promises.
I hope to continue posting "The Colbys" on Thursday nigths, which means we should now be done with the season in May - just like the regular TV season in the US. :)
I'll also try to post some additional pictures, videos and articles about "Dynasty" in the days to come. Again, I would hate to make any promises, but do check back from time to time.
So, no - the site is not dead :) Besides, we can't have our friend Yvan committ suicide. :)
All right, here's now the usual rundown of facts concerning the episode you're about to see:
ORIGINAL AIRDATE: Thursday, December 18, 1986 at 9:00-10:00pm on the ABC TV Network
ORIGINAL TV GUIDE SYNOPSIS: Jason learns that Connie has disappeared; Kolya receives tragic news from his sister in the Soviet Union.
NIELSEN RATINGS: Ranked 52nd (tie) for the week of Dec. 15, 1986
TRIVIA: CBS aired an episode of "Designing Women" against this episode of "The Colbys," moving the show from its successful Monday night time slot, in order to boost its Thursday night line-up. The move was however disastrous as the sitcom sank to 58th place (from 20th the week before). Star Dixie Carter was quoted as saying: "We did not win over 'The Colbys'?! I didn't expect that..."

ReplyDeleteHi! I'm a (french) old and faithful follower of your channels (you tube, dailymotion etc. ) Glad to see you back!Your regular and long absences always make me fear you may be sick...! I hope it's just a question of schedule or work...
ReplyDeleteAbout a sequel to Dynasty: I can't see the interest without the main characters we were fond of... John Forsythe passed out, Poor Linda Evans seems to have been abducted by Fallon's Aliens... The magic is gone, let's stick to our memories... Look what happened to " Melrose Place"... Resurecting old shows is (I think) a mistake. They were an alchemy between special characters, plots, and audience, they belong to a specific era. (For example: can the upcoming new "dallas" be anything else than a betrayal, or a dull gallery of our favorite characters ageing...?) On the contrary, a "Dynasty" about Blake and Alexis past with a fresh cast(a miniseries I mean) could bring back the glamour and the atmosphere of the sixties and let us know much more about Alexis, Blake, Caress, Blake's father( and therefore Dominique, why not?) the Roger Grimes Story line etc. etc.
YAY WELCOME BACK!

Oh, thank you so much for all the kind messages. That's lovely. And thanks for your concern XY-Project, but I'm doing very well. No need to worry. I just tend to disappear from time to time. That's what I do. :) I'll add my thoughts on the prequel vs. new series in a separate post once this week's poll is closed.
