So, which man should "Bella Sabella" have ended up with? The results of our very first Dynasty Poll - after the jump.
The winner of a very close battle between two very passionate lovers of Sable, "The Colbys" family matriarch, has emerged - and it is Zachary Powers - the arch rival of Jason (Sable's husband of 29 years) played brilliantly by the star of "Fantasy Island," the late Ricardo Montalban.
Sable's "Dynasty" lover Dex Dexter (Michael Nader) came in the second place, just one vote behind Zach. Obviously, Sable and Dex's passionate affair from "Dynasty's" ultimate season strike the right cord with quite a few of our readers (admit - it was the tongue, wasn't it?).
The two men were then followed by the tycoons - Charlton Heston's "Jason" (after all she did love the man unconditionally for three decades, didn't she?) and John Forsythe's "Blake" (he and Sable became very good friends at the time when they really needed someone close to rely on).
My final suggestion was of course more of a "fifth wheel" - Tripp Darling is a character from a more recent "Dirty Sexy Money" universe (played by Donald Sutherland) and I thought he would have found Sable's refined qualities very appealing, had he had the chance to meet her. Not surprisingly he didn't get a single vote.
Personally, I would have voted for Zach, too. I loved the ambiguous nature of his relationship with Sable. Did he really love her? Was he only trying to use her? Or did he do a little bit of both? In any event, their affair was bursting with sparkling chemistry, albeit their scenes together got a tad repetitive at one point in time.
Would he have found a way to get back with her after she had abandoned him at the end of season 2? Would Dex have recovered from his fall off the Carlton balcony (remember - "he didn't fare too well")? Or would Jason have come to his senses and dumped that bland sister of hers? I guess we'll never know.
As you can see in the top left corner, my next question is which one of the four supporting characters listed was the most pointless (i.e. - their presence/storyline went nowhere or served little or no purpose). And yes, I know that many Dynasty storylines went nowhere, but let's just focus on these. :)
As always, I'll report the results and add my view next Wednesday.
